Shivsanskruti Trust Conducts Food Donation, Medical Aid and Refreshment Services for Warkaris During Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Ashadhi Wari continuing its annual tradition, Shivsanskruti Trust once again organized a series of humanitarian service initiatives for the Warkaris participating in the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Ashadhi Wari Palkhi Sohla at Phaltan, Satara district. The Trust provided food donation, medical assistance, therapeutic massage, and refreshments to thousands of devotees undertaking the sacred pilgrimage on foot. As part of its dedicated service to the Warkaris, the Trust distributed refreshments at various locations along the Wari route. Devotees were served bananas, biscuits, purified drinking water, rajgira laddus, and other nutritious food items. These refreshments helped restore the Devotees energy during their journey, bringing smiles and satisfaction to their faces. Under the medical assistance initiative, Dr. Sachin Bhoir, an Ayurvedic medicine expert from Thane district, and Dr. Santosh Warghade, a physiotherapist, provided therapeutic massages using Ayurvedic medicated oil and offered medical treatment to Warkaris suffering from body pain and fatigue. Many Devotees experienced relief from pain in their back, waist, shoulders, and other body parts and expressed their satisfaction after receiving treatment. The medical experts also guided the Warkaris on preventive healthcare measures to minimize physical discomfort during the remainder of their pilgrimage. Recognizing that the Warkaris undertake hundreds of kilometres on foot under changing weather conditions and strenuous physical exertion, Shivsanskruti Trust established a dedicated medical service centre. Medical professionals examined the Devotees and distributed free medicines for ailments such as cold, fever, cough, body aches, fatigue, and other common health problems, ensuring timely healthcare support throughout the pilgrimage. On the auspicious occasion of the Ashadhi Wari, the Trust also organized a large-scale food donation programme with the generous support of its donors. Nutritious meals were served to Warkaris walking towards Pandharpur for the darshan of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini. Organized with the belief that Serving the Warkaris is Serving Lord Vitthal, the initiative received an overwhelming response from local residents and devotees. Notably, local women and women members of the Trust participated enthusiastically and wholeheartedly in making the programme a success. For the food donation and refreshment initiatives, well-wishers and supporters of the Trust contributed generously by donating food grains, fruits, biscuits, and drinking water, providing valuable in-kind support that played a significant role in the successful execution of the programme.
